EVERYTHING YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT MEMBERSHIP IN THE SCRIPPS RANCH WOMEN’S CLUB, BUT ARE AFRAID TO ASK!
The Scripps Ranch Women’s Club was started in 1990 for women living in Scripps Ranch (zip code 92131) to socialize with other interesting women and to raise funds to improve the quality of life in the community, support six Scripps Ranch schools and provide one or more college scholarships to outstanding female seniors graduating from SRHS. Fundraising for the 2010—11 season was highly successful and $10,000 was donated back to the community.
Our operating year runs August 1 through July 31 when the new Officers and Board Members assume their positions for one year. New members may join at anytime during the year for $45 the first year and early renewal dues payment by June 30 is discounted at $40, and $45 thereafter. A Membership Roster and By-Laws are published annually to include all active members as of August 1.
The SRWC members vary in age and include career women, nonworking women, and retired members so our activities are scheduled during the day, evening and weekend events often welcome spouses or significant others. Our club requires every member to actively participate in one or more committee or event and we
encourage new members to actively participate in as many activities as possible to build personal relationships and gain optimal value from the club. We do not require attendance at any event, but we do rely on the financial support of members to attend fundraising activities to successfully meet our charitable donation goals for the year. We do not use the club as an overt business networking group and we prohibit using member information for business solicitation.
The SRWC currently has 55 active members and a monthly newsletter emailed to members is our primary method for communication. New members are welcome to attend monthly Board Meetings (first Thursday of each month @ 7pm) to see how club business is run and serving as an officer or board member is important to
achieve the goals of the club and gain new ideas for activities from members.
If a club member moves outside of Scripps Ranch, but wishes to continue club
membership, this is permissible.
